Good Hope and Tamworths Sir Robert Peel Hospital have joined forces to share post operative care.
Plans are to share 15 beds at Tamworth for Good Hope patients trauma and orthopaedic rehabilitation and post-operative service.
Good Hope Hospital claim the move has enabled them to better accommodate the growing number of patients using its service and help keep waiting lists low.
Many locals are angered at the move feeling that they will now have to travel further to visit loved ones.
