Chickenstop the fast food chicken takeaway in the town centre has been given temporary 6 month trial RUN to stay open until 1.30am weeknights and 2.30am Thursdays to Saturdays despite protests about anti social behaviour.
Planning committee member Coun Ian Ward (Lab, Shard End) said that a six- month test period would allow police and council officials to see if the shop creates any problems.
Sutton Coldfield councillor Maureen Cornish (Cons, Sutton Four Oaks) said: “I understand the concerns that there might be problems but the police tell us that most of the anti-social behaviour happens after 2.30am so this should not make a difference. That is why I reluctantly agree to temporary approval.”
